As one of the counties in Commonwealth of Virginia, Stafford County is located just across the Rappahannock River along the city of Fredericksburg. This county was ranked as the top 11th highest income county by Forbes Magazine in America. As part of the Washington Metropolitan Area, Stafford is connected with the other counties through U.S. Route 1, Virginia Railway Express, and Interstate 95. Having a total area of 280 square miles, 10 square miles of it consist of bodies of water. The Rappahannock River lies across the southern border of the county, while Potomac River flows in the county’s eastern border.

Aquia Landing Park

The Aquia Landing Park is a public beach which offers kayaking, fishing, and picnicking.
